Making the World a Better Place

As a public benefit corporation, making substantial contributions to the social good is embedded in our every action.

Benefit Corporation Definition

Our stated public benefit purpose is to ensure better educational, economic, social, and health outcomes for disadvantaged children and youth, and we are constantly striving to find new and better ways of delivering on that purpose.

While we invest in and continue to expand our award-winning software platform for human services, we are also deeply involved in helping communities in need. In the past, we have created and provided backpacks filled with essential supplies and toys to various local organizations assisting children in crisis; engaged with government agencies to provide free consulting services regarding policy and best practices implementation; interviewed caseworkers and social welfare administrators in order to incorporate their experiences and unique knowledge into our product development; and worked with the Annie E. Casey Foundation on identifying key measures to embed into our research-driven user dashboards, with the aim of providing quicker access to the most important welfare metrics.

To further validate our dedication to creating a public good, we have gone through a complete audit by the B Lab®, the certifying entity for B Corporations, and recently were certified as a B Corporation. In the words of B Lab, “Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose… B Corps form a community of leaders and drive a global movement of people using business as a force for good.”

As we look to the future, we hope to marry our public benefit purpose with the B Corporation principles, by focusing our philanthropic efforts on being responsible corporate citizens and contributing to making the world a better place.
